Santa Cruz Boardwalk Sea Cliff Beach Engagement | Arielle & Tim

Time to take a trip to the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk!! Talk about fun, relaxed and full of laughs! We had an awesome time, can’t you tell?!! Luckily we went during midweek, which meant less crowds and awesome pics…it’s as if we had the whole place to ourselves!

For Tim and Arielle’s shoot, because we were going to the boardwalk, I was ready for all the colors, bright sun, and fun backdrops, but because of this, I made sure that they had just the right attire as well. Keep in mind that when you choose locations like this, clothing can make or break the session!! With all the color and busy patterns in the background, you’ll want to keep the outfits subdued, less bright and more neutral, otherwise, you’ll blend right in with the background and get lost in the picture. And vice verse when going to a location that is more neutral, pops of colors on your clothes works best!! I always advise my clients to plan their outfits, take pictures, and bring backups on the day of!!! It’s so important! Tim and Arielle did an awesome job choosing their location and the attire that went along with each spot!

When we moved on the the Sea Cliff, a location that Tim recommended, my jaw dropped. Drama and romance set the stage when I saw these two through my lens and the backdrop! It was amazing! I will definitely be heading back here to these spots for more shoots!!!

Napa Andretti Winery Engagement Wedding Photos | Sokkim & Nathan

Detail, detail, detail. From the cool bow tie and hip cowboy boots to the sweet picnic basket display and sun-kissed yellow umbrella, my couple Sokkim and Nathan took their photoshoot to a whole new level. Their outfits and well thought out style of every scene made this shoot amazing!! When we were planning this engagement session, Sokkim expressed their want to have romantic backdrops however nothing too overused and obvious — they wanted “people to wonder where they were”. I think by the looks of all our shots, we were able to accomplish just that! Our first stop in Napa was the Andretti Winery, then our second location was Domain Carneros Winery. As we were scouting locations throughout the day, a sea of yellow beautiful flowers caught my eye and I knew it would go perfect with one of their outfit changes!!

I’ll be looking forward to their Fall Wedding with more details and their impeccable style! Stay tuned!!

Hi everyone!! Hope everyone is doing well! I wanted to post an awesome engagement session I did for Agnes and Carlo, who I will be shooting soon for their upcoming wedding in June! I’m excited to see what awesome details they will have at their wedding, especially after spending such a fun afternoon with them…my camera loved these two!! Everything from the colors they chose, to the props they brought, you can tell that my couple knew what they were doing and came prepared!! Every shot has eye popping color, and their flare for style showed off wonderfully through my lens. Even their son, added a fun twist to their pictures, not to mention he was a great assistant to me (holding the video light for me during some of the evening shots) and helping to capture amazing shots!

Agnes and Carlo, I’m looking forward to June and getting you behind my lens once again! Enjoy!!

Palm Event Center Winter Wedding Photo | Betty & Dave

Winter weddings bring a fun twist to my job! With Betty and Dave’s January wedding, the air was crisp, the mood was light and energy was high–everyone was ready for a good time, despite the almost freezing temps! You couldn’t tell by the photos that we were gritting our teeth and the girls may have been shivering in their heels!! Like I said, this was a fun twist to my job from the usual 90-100 degree temps I’m use to when I shoot in Livermore in the middle of Summer! The wedding took place at the beautiful Palm Event Center and just a short drive away, we also stopped at Concannon Winery for some more great photos! The reception was beautiful and lively, with an awesome lion dance performance and an amazing display of sweets at the dessert table. This wedding had a little bit of everything and a lot of great memories for everyone that celebrated the love between Betty and Dave! Hope you enjoy!

You probably remember Eddie and Michelle, who I blogged about a few weeks ago on their engagement session. They are my San Francisco native couple who LOVE the Giants!! The day started out beautifully for them at the landmark boutique hotel, Hotel Vitale, overlooking San Francisco’s waterfront. During the hours before the wedding, the couple chose to get ready in this amazing urban retreat with clean modern lines. It made for some awesome pictures with their bridal entourage. From their getting ready moment, to ceremony and reception, their wedding had a very modern, unique and stylish affair in their hometown San Francisco! What better way to start their new life together as man and wife than in the city they love and grew up in!

Happy Presidents Day! It’s a beautiful long weekend, so I thought what better way to start it off than with Justina and Kendric’s amazing wedding! My bride and groom got married at the beautiful Rosewood Sand Hill Hotel in Menlo Park. As you can tell in the photos, we took advantage of this gorgeous venue with lush green gardens and beautiful and modern furnishings. There’s no doubt about it, my couples work hard at finding the best locations to shoot, making my job easier and their memories that more unique! Hope you all have a great weekend!

On Tina and Nick’s wedding day, I couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful shade of blue in the sky. And likewise, I couldn’t have asked for a more easy-going, fun, and energetic group of people to work with! Both my bride and groom, and the entire wedding party were up for anything the whole day and night. I spent a good part of the evening witnessing a group of friends that really knew how to celebrate love and friendship….and take down a few shots in a moments notice! It was so much fun capturing this day for them!

Advanced Systemic Physiology Class at UC Davis is what brought these two lovebirds together; it’s no chemistry class, but it might as well have been! This is where it all started for Andrea and Brian. And who would’ve thought that years later, their love would bring them back to exactly where they started for their engagement session. I also went and graduated from UC Davis so I was very familiar with the campus. They were a fun couple to shoot and very easy going — we even managed to get some great shots in the library with a few of their favorite text books! It brought back lots of memories for them! I had the pleasure of capturing Yvonne and Tommy, a couple both sweet and romantic, who really shined through my lens. We traveled to various locations including the beautiful campus of Stanford University, which they are both alumnis at, San Francisco’s Baker Beach and the Ferry Building, and the gorgeous Half Moon Bay for this Pre-Wedding Session.

During these sessions, I shoot the bride and groom a few months before their wedding, in casual to dressy attire, as well as in their bridal attire, complete with hair and makeup!! This is a fun take on the usual engagement session for couples that are limited on time on the day of their wedding. It gives you an opportunity to get comfortable in front of the camera and allows me to capture some really awesome shots, without the stress of the actual wedding day on your shoulders!! Shoreline Rengstorff House Wedding | Clarrie & Tony

It was a perfect day to get married at the beautiful Historic Rengstorff House in Mountain View. Bride Clarrie loves the color pink and her wedding was the perfect place to showcase that! From the beautiful flowers, to the bridal party attire and even in the groomsmens’ socks, pink made its mark on today! Clarrie and Tony chose an amazing venue for their wedding where we were able to capture so many romantic and fun shots!! I took Clarrie and Tony and their bridal party all over the estate and had a great time shooting in front of the house,in the garden, and at the pier amongst the beautiful sailboats! I love it when venues like the Renstorff, while private and quaint, offers a variety of gorgeous backdrops. Enjoy!!
